IMAGE AGAIN is a business registered in the state of New Jersey, a sole proprietorship of Charles J. Byrne. Its business (as the name implies) is processing photographs to remove noise and other artifacts. The cleaned pictures are then made available as products.
What sets IMAGE AGAIN aside as a picture processor is the ability to use custom software to address specific problems of imagery, as well as using processes typical of commercial software. This capability includes the design of custom filters for images.
At this time, the major product of IMAGE AGAIN is a book, "Lunar Orbiter Photographic Atlas of the Near Side of the Moon", based on about 300 photos taken by Lunar Orbiter Mission 4. This book, a publication of Springer Verlag, is available through common retailing channels such as Amazon, Borders, and Barnes & Noble.
Another product of IMAGE AGAIN is a large mosaic of the Moon’s Orientale Basin, constructed of 15 overlapping high-resolution images from Lunar Orbiter 4, available from Mr. Byrne.
A current activity is improving the pictures of Mars taken long ago by Mariner 6 and 7, to reduce noise and improve the dynamic range.
